UBDTCE, formerly known as GBDTCE, was established and started at Municipality Building with B.E. Civil Engineering.
1956

Main building was inaugurated on September 24, 1956 by the Maharaja of Mysore.
1957

The college was named after the donors Brammappa Deverappa and remained the only Government Engineering College in the state.

Introduced B.E. Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering courses.

Introduced B.E. Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering courses.

Introduced M.Tech Production Engineering Systems Technology (PEST).

Introduced B.E. Industrial & Production Engineering course.

TEQIP Phase I was sanctioned; M.Tech Environmental Engineering and infrastructure development were introduced.

College transferred to Davangere University as a constituent engineering college; two UG programs received NBA accreditation.

Inauguration of R&D block under Smart City Project with advanced research facilities.
